Monument Valley Night Photography Workshop
August 30 & 31, 2019
You will need to bring your own camera, tripod, and a wide angle lens 14mm-24mm is best for what we will be shooting. A 35mm-50mm can be good to use in select locations we will visit. Light headlamps, warm clothing, and personal snacks & coffee or energy drinks as we will be out until 2 am,
We will go over our camera set-ups before we head out on tour, we will get familiar with live view, manual focusing, and learning buttons on your camera, as we will be in the dark while shooting long exposure photographs.
I will provide a tour vehicle for exploring Monument Valley Backcountry at night, the roads are rough and sandy, you will need to find your own lodging(there are many options, Airbnb, hotels in Monument Valley, Kayenta and Mexican Hat, and many campgrounds around).
We will visit areas in the Park that are off limits to visitors without guides, and I will teach you how to light and capture iconic desert spires, arches and sand dune ripples with long exposure techniques. For anyone who is interested in Post processing, we can meet at a location Saturday before the last tour and go over Lightroom and Photoshop.
